Lisa Louise McKinley

August 23, 1962 - May 7, 2020

          Lisa Louise McKinley, age 57, of Lewes, DE, and formerly of Delaware City, DE, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2020.

          Born in Wilmington, DE on August 23, 1962, she was a daughter of the late Robert L. and Rosemarie (Lill) McKinley. Lisa was a graduate of William Penn High School. She then worked as a chef at Crabby Dick’s Restaurant in Delaware City for 20 years. Lisa was a talented cook and enjoyed preparing a delicious meal.  She also worked for Gunther Sunkler, owner of Schaeffer’s Canal House in Chesapeake City, MD, as his personal chef on his sailing yacht at one time.  She also loved to spend time at the beach and fishing and crabbing.  She was a kind person with a generous spirit, a quick mind and a great sense of humor. 

          Lisa is survived by her siblings, Susan E. Drake (Morgan) of Rehoboth Beach and Christopher W. McKinley (Sandra) of Delaware City; nephew, Clayton Drake; nieces, Danica Drake, Justine Isard and Tara Belcher; and grand-nieces Rowan Farrell,  Ellie Belcher and Addie Isard. 

          Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a service will be announced at a later date.

          In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lisa’s memory to the Delaware Humane Association, 701 A Street, Wilmington, DE 19801.

    There is so much I want to say, but I’m going to sum-it-up by saying, I am very sorry for your loss. Lisa and I had the best of times, we had the worst of times. I loved her like a sister. She was a very passionate person. She held many things close to her heart. I will always cherish the times we had together, and also the fun times I had with all of your family. In time, maybe we can together and rehash some of those wonderful times. I’m sad and I Love you guys!
