Lura Perry Wood, age 90, of DeLand, FL and formerly of New Castle and Dover, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 7, 2016.

Born in Neuse, NC on May 6, 1926, Mrs. Wood was a daughter of the late Obie and Bertha (Williams) Perry. She made her career as an office manager for City of Mirrors, retiring in 1988 after many years of dedicated service.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Lewis Wood; brothers, Samuel, Claude and Ollie Perry; and sisters, Ruth Holmun and Betty Johnson. She is survived by her children, Charles Lee Wood, Dorothy Ann Keeler and Beverly Sue Amalfitano; 6 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Monday, August 15, 2016, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a visitation will be held from 11 am until 12 Noon. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.
