Marcella J. Pease

Marcella J. Pease, age 90, of Bear, DE, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023.

Born in Altoona, PA on February 23, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Evelyn (Albright) McConnell. Marcella always had a strong work ethic; her first job was in the hospitality industry, working as a general manager for Horne’s Motor Lodge. After working at the Lodge, Marcella worked at the Safeway grocery store in Newark, DE from which she retired. In her spare time, Marcella enjoyed playing the slots and she was a fan of Elvis Presley. She also had a rather extensive collection of Elvis memorabilia as well as a collection of many Santa Clauses. A neat and tidy home was very important to her. Marcella especially enjoyed her annual vacations with her sister, Betty.

In addition to her parents, Marcella was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Pease; and her brothers, Robert and John McConnell. She is survived by her children, Bruce Morris (Marie), Cynthia Coffin and Steve Emmons (Linda Goodchild); sister, Betty Noel; 7 Grandchildren; 12 Great-grandchildren; and 4 Great-great-grandchildren.

A committal service for family and friends will be held at 10 am on Thursday, January 18, 2024, in the chapel of Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
