Born: 11/11/1914
Died: 7/16/2013

A brave and beloved woman has been granted eternal rest. Only child of Weldin and Estella Virden Waples, Margaret was born in the upstairs parlor chamber of the former Governor Ponder house in Milton, DE. A devoted Sussex county native, Delaware history was always of great importance to her. Gifted with an exceptional memory she shared engaging stories of her family and life in the early 1900s. A graduate of Women’s College in 1936 (now UD) she went on to become an accredited occupational therapist, a career she enjoyed well into her seventies. Her association with the Delaware Curative Workshop was long and satisfying. Devoted to her family, other interests included reading, travel and nature.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Louis Dollins, her son, John Clark Dollins, and her half-sister, Nancy Waples Howell. She is survived by her daughters, Betsy West (Buddy) and Susan Kalmer (Michael) of Wilmington; daughter-in-law, Lisa Dollins of Richmond, VA; grandchildren, David Neff (Marnie), Braden Neff (Julia), Elyse Sahadevan, Nicholas James Dollins (Allie), Anthony Louis Dollins, and Alex Dollins; and great grandchildren, William Kuhn, Samantha and Shoshana Neff, Chloe and Claire Dollins and William Neff.
A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Monday, July 29, 2013, at Head of Christiana Cemetery, Nottingham Road, Newark.
