  • When I was a small child, our family had overnight house guests one time. To accommodate the guests, our mother had me give up my bedroom for one night and instead sleep with Margaret. My sister protested the decision to have this creature on her clean sheets. She made me take a bath and put on fresh pajamas. Even then, I wasn’t allowed onto her crisp clean sheets until I put on clean white socks.
I think she would have wrapped me in Saran Wrap if it had existed at the time.

I will miss Margaret. But I am comforted by the thought that she is at peace now and with the love of her life, her Lee.

A boy could not have ask for a better Aunt. God Bless…

  • Aunt Margaret was a wonderful lady and I admired her very much. She reminded me so much of Grandma Helen Ertz, and that included her “cleanliness is next to Godliness attitude!”
My sympathy to her family and friends.
    She will be missed…………….

  • John, you were a wonderful brother to her just as her others brothers were. She loved your last visit with her. So glad you got a chance to see her as she was: An energetic fun person to the end. Much love,

  • I’ve shared a love for music with Margaret in the past few years with the “Songbirds” at the Newark Senior Center, where Margaret not only sang, but danced when the music was appropriate. I will always remember her grace on the dance floor, as well as in her personality. She was a shining light. And her beautiful smile will always be part of us. We never know what a lasting effect we may have on others. God’s peace,

    Barbara Tilton

  • Your mother and my parents, Fred and Evelyn Fluegge (who are bith deceased) met at the Newark senior center dancing. They also danced together at Cokesbury Village. I know both my parents enjoyed knowing Margaret and my dad loved dancing with her. I am sorry and understand how hard it is to lose someone close to you. Even Philip Berger, the leader of the Berger Music group that played at Cokesbury mentioned to me what a beautiful dancer Margaret was.

  • Thinking and praying for you. Love you all!

  • Cullen Family, I am sorry to hear of your loss. I ran the Meals on Wheels program at the Newark Senior Center from 2002-2013 and knew Margaret from the volunteer work she did with us. She was a very dedicated volunteer, and always pleasant and friendly. She will be missed.

  • Still hard for us to believe she is gone. I see her number on my caller ID. That voice, that laugh I will never hear again. She was never one for dwelling on the sadness in our lives. So instead of missing her voice I will enjoy the voices that I have with me today. Be greatful for the voices that comfort and lighten my day. And maybe appreciate each one of them a little bit more.

Thank you all for the stories and love you have shared with us. You have showed us she was so much more than we really knew. God Bless you all.

  • Dear Margaret,
today I will write You a last letter.
In the first Mail, You wrote that You love dancing, too, like I. “Music, dance, love, they are healers.” and
“Love makes life wonderful.” These was Your words. I will try to remember them when dark days came in my life.
Margaret, I hope You meet all the people You love and how had gone before You.
    Goodbye Margaret
    Yours Karin
