Mrs. Margaret H. Preston, age 92, of Millsboro, DE, formerly of Wilmington, passed away on Monday, July 9, 2012.
Mrs. Preston was born in Glassboro, NJ, on June 13, 1920, daughter of the late Isaac Horner and Minetta Glaspey Horner. She was a talented homemaker and devoted her life to caring for her beloved family.
Active in her community, Mrs. Preston was a past member of the Mid-Sussex Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary in Millsboro. For many years, she also enjoyed playing cards with her many friends in her card party group. Other favorite pastimes included boating, fishing, crabbing, handcrafting ceramic artwork, and traveling with her beloved husband of 32 years, Harold L. Preston.
Harold passed away in 1997. She is survived by her children, Carol L. McNamara of Millsboro, Thomas W. Baynard (Pamela) of Mt. Joy, PA, Joyce E. Baynard of Wilmington, and Sandra A. Sanroma (Ulises) of Chester, VA; brother, Howard Horner of Millsboro; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Monday, July 16, 2012, in the chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 1 pm. Interment will follow in the adjoining memorial park.
