Margaret Josephine “Peggy” (Curran) Moos

March 19, 1932 - October 28, 2021

Margaret Josephine “Peggy” (Curran) Moos, age 89, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 28, 2021.

Peggy was a native Delawarean, born in Wilmington on March 19, 1932 to the late Francis and Nellie McHugh Curran.  She graduated from St. Elizabeth’s High School as the class valedictorian.  Peggy retired from DuPont after 27 years.  She was a member of St. Johns/Holy Angels Catholic Church since 1966, the Delaware Saengerbund, and the YMCA.

Her hobbies included reading, especially history, and researching and recording the genealogy of her family.  She particularly enjoyed crocheting and was a longtime volunteer at Mary Mother of Hope House, making baby blankets for the children.  Her cross-stitch works were done for her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Marvin E. Moos; brothers, Francis and Richard Curran; and sisters, Anne Curran, Catherine Thomas, Joan Goralski, Suzanne Donavan, Helen DePrisco, Marie Hare, Elizabeth Connor and Dorothy Wardell. Peggy is survived by her children, Marvin C. Moos (Janet K.) of Houston, TX, Anne-Marie Barron, also of Houston, TX, and Margaret-Anne Moos, of Frederick, MD; four grandsons, Matthew Moos, Bradley Novotny, Joseph Barron, and Jarred Barron, all of Houston, TX; siblings, Anthony Curran of Dallas, TX and Rosalie Ewing of Stuart, FL; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 pm until 7:30 pm on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12 pm on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Holy Angels R.C. Church, 82 Possum Park Road, Newark, DE. Face coverings will be required for all those in attendance not immunized with the COVID-19 vaccine per the Governor of Delaware. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery, 2400 Lancaster Avenue, Wilmington, DE.

 In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Peggy’s Memory to the Sunday Breakfast Mission, 110 Poplar Street, Wilmington, DE, 19801.
