Marian I. Gall, age 82, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 24, 2017.

A native Delawarean, Marian was born in Wilmington on November 12, 1934, and was the daughter of the late Albert H. and Elvina (Wilkinson) Donovan. She was a graduate of Wilmington High School and later worked for both Grants and Eckerds.

An avid collector, Marian enjoyed adding Christmas Santas, crystal, Beanie Babies, and family photos to her treasured assemblage. She loved gardening, tending to her beautiful flowers, and spending time in her greenhouse. Marian was a faithful Phillies fan and in her leisure time, relished shopping for and giving gifts, visiting the Jersey shore, listening to music, dancing, and watching soap operas. Above all else, she adored the company of her family and friends and especially looked forward to family gatherings.

In addition to her parents, Marian was preceded in death by her sons, Frank M. Tartaglio, Jr. and David Tartaglio; brother, Charles A. Petey Donovan; and stepson, James M. Gall. She is survived by faithful husband of over 39 years, Richard T. Gall; son, Thomas A. Tartaglio; stepson, Richard T. Gall (Colleen); daughters-in-law, Donna M. Tartaglio and Jan M. Cecconi Tartaglio; brother, Richard Bock; sisters, Joan Peacock, Joyce Nute (Thomas), and Alice Peterson (John); grandchildren, David Jr., Mandy, Brenda, Kristeen, Courtney, and Richard III; 6 great grandchildren, with another great granddaughter on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 am until 10:30 am on Saturday morning, September 30, 2017, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE 19720.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marian’s memory may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Delaware Chapter, 100 W. 10th Street, Ste 209, Wilmington, DE 19801.

  • Dear Cousin Richard: Jan and I are truly saddened by the news of Marians` passing.

    Even though we never met in person, our conversations and correspondence with her, gave us the
    picture of a wonderful person.

    Her talents were vast, and we will cherish the cards and gifts, she sent. We shared them with our friend and family, here in Milford.
