Marie Chantal Michel - Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Homes & Crematory

Marie Chantal Michel

June 26, 1974 - December 25, 2019

Marie Chantal Michel was born on June 26, 1974 to Claudel and Marie Marthe Michel in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.  At an early age, Chantal and her family relocated to New York City where she entered the New York City’s public-school system.  Chantal attended and graduated Clara Barton High School in 1993.

Growing up, “Chantou”, as she was affectionately called by everyone, was an active member in the youth ministry at St. Francis of Assisi, in Brooklyn, New York.  Chantal was light hearted and eager to help anyone in need.  Her warm heart, cheerful spirit and her interest in health care, led her to study nursing.  She obtained a Nursing degree through the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing program in 2001.

For 18 years, Chantal fulfilled her life dream of caring for the sick.  She was a traveling nurse and was exceptional in what she loved to do. But what Chantal enjoyed the most in life were her two children, Charise and Elijah. Spending time with the two apples of her eyes meant the world to Chantal.  Her kids were her life line.  Chantal’s family feels blessed to have her legacy live on through both Charise and Elijah.

“Chantou”, as the eldest sibling of four was strong, beautiful, proud, and loved by her family.  She would always let her sibling know that she’s the eldest and was in charge.  She always made sure that her family was taken care of in her gifting and with her love.  She was a joy and a ray of sunshine to her family and to all she encountered.  Chantal was a breast cancer survivor, and during that time she accepted Christ in her life. She began healing her body and mind by eating right, working out and reading the word.

On December 25, 2019, our Heavenly Father, in His divine and infinite wisdom surrounded Chantal with His loving arms and called her home to be with Him.  Chantal is survived by: her parents– Claudel and Marie Marthe Michel; Her Children – Charise and Elijah Jeudy; Her Siblings – Clifford, Doris, Natacha, Jackson, Johnny and Jean Robert Michel; Her Brother-in-Laws and Sister-in-Laws – Gregory Blanchard, Ronald Fils-Aime, Hermine Michel, Stephanie Michel, and Natacha Sylvain; Her Nephews – Romero Amilcar, Christopher Michel, Jonathan Michel, Jason Michel, Nathan Michel, Ryan Blanchard and Ethan Michel; Her Nieces – Jasmine Michel, Vanessa Michel, Sephora Fils-Aime, and Nejila Michel;  Her Uncle – Monod Charles; Her Aunt – Daphne and a host of extended family and friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 am until 11 am on Saturday, January 4, 2020, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am.  Interment will follow in Forest Cemetery, 2025 Cedar Lane Road, Middletown, DE.
