Marie L. Cmorik

Mrs. Marie L. Cmorik, age 92, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2013.
Born in Deepwater, NJ on September 23, 1920, Marie was the second youngest of fourteen children born to William Spear and Elizabeth Watson Spear. She was a devout Christian throughout her life and a longtime member of Asbury United Methodist Church, where she served as a day care teacher and the assistant director of the daycare program for many years. She also volunteered with the Colonial School District for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Joseph G. Cmorik, and her two sons, Joseph F. Cmorik and Donald A. Cmorik. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Joy G. Cmorik of New Castle; granddaughters, Megan K. Scantlan and husband Tim of New Castle and Chrissy M. Cmorik of San Diego, CA; great grandson, Elijah N. Scantlan; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, May 25, 2013, in the chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow in the adjoining memorial park.
