Marjorie Violet (Edwards) Gunton Jones, age 85, of Middletown, DE, formerly of Bear, DE, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, December 28, 2018.

Born on December 12, 1933 in Pittston, PA, she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Violet (Parry) Edwards. Marge and her first husband, Don, moved to Delaware where they raised their family. She was employed at Wilmington Plastics in New Castle for many years. After her retirement, Marge and her second husband, Jack, enjoyed traveling throughout North America in their RV and both were members of New Castle Moose Lodge #1578.

In addition to her first husband, Donald Gunton, Sr. and her second husband, Jack Jones, she was preceded in death by her sister, Alice Donaldson and brother, Thomas Edwards. Marge is survived by her children, Barbara Cahall, Donald Gunton, Jr. (Theresa), Carol Lewis (Harry), and Louis Gunton; step-son, Paul Bohn (Dixie); sister, June Price (Harold); 10 grandchildren, including Heather, who was a close companion and dear friend for many years; 4 great grandchildren; and her longtime boyfriend, John Peckham.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 am until 12 Noon on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE 19720 where a funeral service will begin at 12 Noon. Interment will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.

  • We will miss Marge as she has been good friend to both of us through the years. We knew Marge and Jack as good friends in our association with the New Castle Moose Lodge. Our sympathies go out to her family and we know she is now at peace with her family in heaven.
