Mark W. Brustman, age 54, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, July 31, 2012.
Born in Wilmington, Delaware on April 30, 1958, Mark was the son of Willard R. Brustman and Betty Jarrell Brustman. He was employed as a department manager for Acme and retired after 37 years of dedicated service.
Mark was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and was thrilled to have been able to travel to Arlington to visit the team’s new stadium there. He liked watching and playing basketball. Mark greatly enjoyed spending time at his family’s cottage in Cape May, NJ. Above all else, he was a devoted son, husband, father, and adoring grandfather to his only grandchild, Alexis.
Mark was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Donna E. Yoder Brustman; mother, Betty Brustman; son, Jeremy M. Brustman, and his fiancée, Michelle; brothers, Glen D. Brustman, and his wife, Peggy, David P. Brustman, and Scott S. Brustman, and his wife, Irina; sister, Darlene G. Tulloch and her husband, Charles; granddaughter, Alexis Brustman; and many devoted nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, August 4, 2012, at the Red Clay Creek Presbyterian Church, 500 McKennan’s Church Road, Wilmington, where friends may call after 9 am. A reception will immediately follow at the church. Interment will be private.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the nurses on floor 6B at the Christiana Hospital and to the staff of Heartland Hospice House for the excellent care they provided to Mark during his illness.
