Martha D. Chippie, age 89, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Lodge Lane Assisted Living in Wilmington, DE.

Martha was born in Audenried, PA on August 16, 1928, the daughter of the late George S. and Margaret (Lesko) Dvorscak.  Martha was a devout Catholic and charter member of Saint Polycarp R.C. Church in Smyrna, DE, where she was very active, especially in the B.V.M Sodality and the Prayer Group.  She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and dear friend to many, and gifted in needlecraft and sewing.

Martha was also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Edward T. Chippie, Sr., and ten sisters and brothers.  She is survived by her daughters Maryanne C. Trexler (John) of West Chester, PA and Suzanne C. Craven (Paul) of Newark, DE; son, Edward T. Chippie, Jr. of Camden, DE; brother, George Dvorscak of Allentown, PA; sister, Cecilia Eisenhart of McAdoo, PA; and grandchildren, Naomi, Andrew and Rebecca Trexler.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm on Wednesday, December 20, at Saint Margaret of Scotland Parish, 2431 Frazer Rd, Newark, DE 19702, followed by Mass at 12:30 pm.  Interment will be private at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE.

In lieu of flowers, her family suggests a donation to the charity of your choice or to Saint Margaret Parish.
