Mary Anna Kruelle, age 81, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 11, 2018.

Born in Baltimore, MD on October 22, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Christopher and Doris (Crout) Roemer. Mary graduated from Kenwood High School in Overlea, MD and St. John’s Junior College in Winfield, KS. Before staying home to care for her family, Mary worked as a teachers assistant at Lutheran Preschools in Foxborough, MA and Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Newark. She was a communing member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Mary was also a member of the Toy Train Association and volunteered at the Strasburg Museum in PA.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her son Paul. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, The Rev. Carl H. Kruelle, Jr.; sons, Carl III (Sue) of Newark, John (Margaret) of Glendale, AZ and Charles (Karen) of Downingtown, PA; and grandchildren, Brian, Kevin, Matthew, Brandon, Hannah and Scott.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 10 Johnson Road, Newark, DE, 19713, where a service of Celebration and Thanksgiving will be held at 11 am. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church at the address listed above.
