Mary Eva Ross, age 72, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, November 27, 2023.

Born in Wilmington, DE, on January 6, 1951, she was a daughter of the late Ernest Edward and Mary Margaret (Kennelly) Milotte, Sr. Mary attended Holy Angles Catholic School and was a graduate of Newark High School in 1969. She worked as an executive secretary for Hercules for 41 years until her retirement in 2017.

Mary was in good company with Friends of St. Margaret of Scotland. She was also a member of the Women’s Club of Hercules. Having a creative flair, Mary could often be found crafting or decorating. She had a deep appreciation for fashion, and was always well dressed. Mary looked forward to hosting gatherings, cooking, baking, and having a good time.  Above all, she cherished time spent with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her siblings, Ernest Milotte, Jr., John “Teddy” Milotte, and Rodger Milotte. She is survived by her children, John Clayton Wheeler (Florentina) and Margaret J. Rostocki (Brian); grandchildren, Jeffrey Rostocki, Patrick Rostocki, and Joshua Wheeler; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 pm until 7 pm on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at St. Margaret of Scotland Parish, 2431 Frazer Road, Newark, DE. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE.

  • So sorry to learn of the passing of Mary Eva…… I grew up in Old Mill Manor and spent countless days at the house on the top of the hill….shooting pool with Teddy and Gary Wheeler playing tackle football on the front lawn with Roger and neighborhood kids..
