Mary May Kauffman

Mary May Kauffman, age 79, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at her home.
Ms. Kauffman was born in Yeagertown, PA, on March 28, 1934, the eldest of seven children of the late Thomas C. Schomer and Helen Kupple Schomer. She had been employed in quality control with Johnson Controls for 17 years prior to her retirement.
A loving and devoted partner, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she will be sadly missed by the many people who loved her.
She is survived by her son, Donald L. Kauffman (Susan); daughter, Sylvia E. McGonigle (Dan); grandchildren, Mary McGonigle, Kevin McGonigle, Danielle Kauffman, and Karena Kauffman; eight great grandchildren; and siblings, Jim Schomer (Sue), Tom Schomer (Sandra), Betty Weaver (Jerry), Audrey Deyarmin, Carol Toscano (Joe), and Sharon Shinler.
Visitation will be held from 5 pm to 7 pm on Thursday, August 1st, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, August 2nd, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.
