Maryann Roop

Maryann Roop, age 84, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022.
Born in Wilmington, DE, on June 4, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Keller and Nora (O’Connell) McVey. Maryann made her career in the food service industry, most recently at Chase and Woolworths.
Maryann faithfully watched The Young and Restless for over 40 years. She enjoyed sewing, going to Bingo, and to Delaware Park with her friend Carol. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Maryann was preceded in death by her siblings, Elizabeth Keller, and Daniel Keller. She is survived by her children, Virginia Thomas (Roy), Donald McIlvain (Claudette), Elizabeth Hurley (Scott), and Frederick “Billy” Roop (Jesse); grandchildren, Thomas, Shawn, Billy, Scott, Adam, Robert, Danny, Jaylyn, and, Seth; great-grandchildren, Damian, and Nathan; and lifelong friend, Carol Kehn.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1 pm until 2 pm on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 2 pm. Interment will be held privately.
