Ms. Maureen Patricia Smith, age 64, of Clayton, DE, formerly of Delaware City, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2012.
Ms. Smith was born in Fall River, MA, on July 22, 1948, daughter of the late Thomas Feeney and Louretta Brennas Feeney. A proud member of AA for many years, she had been employed as a counselor with the Gateway Foundation in Delaware City, generously sharing her wisdom and life experience to help others struggling to overcome addiction. She was devoted to her family throughout her life and especially enjoyed spending time with her beloved grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Kimberly A. Lombardi (Anthony) of Elkton, MD, Nickolaus W. Smith (Donna) of Clayton, Nathan T. Smith (Shannon) of Palm Coast, FL; brother, Michael Feeney of Bel Air, WA; and six grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Scott C. Smith.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, December 29th, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 214 Clinton Street, Delaware City, where visitation will begin at 1 pm.
