Mr. Michael F. Hall, age 69, of Newark, DE, died suddenly at his residence on Tuesday, February 14, 2012.
Mr. Hall was born in Denver, CO, on August 6, 1942, to the late Rex and Beatrice Hall. After high school, he proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps. Mr. Hall spent his career as an accountant and was most recently employed with H & R Block.
A longtime supporter of the Boy Scouts of America, he was active with Troop #72 at St. Peter’s R.C. Church when his sons were younger, and was most currently an adult leader of Troop #252 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Mr. Hall was a longtime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council. Active in his community, he worked as a communications volunteer for DEMA and also spent several months in the Gulf Coast region, assisting with the Hurricane Katrina relief effort. Mr. Hall was active in AA. In his leisure time, he enjoyed the hobby of amateur radio operating.
Mr. Hall is survived by his sons, Phillip A. Hall, and his wife, Elena, of Wilmington, DE, and Peter R. Hall, and his wife, Denise, of Burlington, NJ; sister, Maureen McInerney, and her husband, Paul, of Greenville, NC; and grandchildren, Alexander Constantine Hall, Angelo Michael Hall, and 1 additional grandchild due this spring.
A memorial service will be held at 7 pm on Monday, February 20, 2012, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 701 South College Avenue, Newark, DE. Friends and family may call at the church from 6 pm until 7 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Mr. Hall’s name be sent to Boy Scouts of America, Troop 252, in care of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 701 South College Avenue, Newark, DE 19711.
