          Michael Joseph “Mike” Evans, age 31, of Bear, DE, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2020.

          Born in New Brunswick, NJ on March 9, 1988, he was the son of Alan Evans and Kathy (King) Evans-Laskowsky.  Mike grew up in Spotswood, NJ, where he graduated from Spotswood High School in 2006.  In his younger years, Mike dreamed of playing professional soccer before a knee injury.  For the past 5 years, he worked for Sephora.  On July 10, 2016, he married the love of his life, the former Tracy Lynn Strumeier in New Jersey.  Shortly after marrying, they moved to Delaware to set up residency and together they raised two beautiful daughters.

          In addition to his parents, Mike is survived by his wife of 3 and a half years, Tracy Lynn (Strumeier) Evans; daughters, Riley May Evans and Avery Christine Evans; step-father, Joe Laskowsky; sister, Jessica Evans; mother and father-in-law, Stuart and Linda Strumeier; brother-in-law, Zachary J. Strumeier; and aunt, Maria Trillo.

          A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm on Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE 19720.  Interment will be held privately.

          In lieu of flowers, donations to help defer funeral costs may be made to the funeral home at the address listed above.

  • I’m very sorry for the loss of Mike. I remember my brother Kyle hanging out with him all the time when I was younger. I used to go to his house in Spotswood to drop off or pick up Kyle and he’d always come to the door and wave hi to me and my mom.
