Michelle Marie Powell, age 48, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018.
Born in Buffalo, New York on March 5, 1970, she was the daughter of John Charles and Sarah (Landis) Arthur, Sr. Michelle graduated from Council Rock High School in 1988 in Newtown, PA and served as a page at the Delaware State House for the Republican Caucus. She was locally known as an artisan and jewelry maker, appearing in many vendor shows and fairs.
In addition to her parents, Michelle is survived by her husband of 16 years, James S. Powell; son, Vincent R. Powell (Rachel) of Smyrna; brother, John Arthur, Jr. of Middletown, PA; paternal grandmother, Louise Kelly Arthur of Pine Bush, NY; and grandchildren, Mia, Colton, and Kylee Powell and Brayden Petrillo.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1:30 pm until 3:30 pm on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. Services and interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Helen Graham Center, c/o Christiana Care, P.O. Box 1668, Wilmington, DE 19899.
