Mitzie A. Gans - Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Homes & Crematory

Mitzie A. Gans

July 10, 1933 - January 20, 2021

Mitzie A. Gans, age 87, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, January 20, 2021.

Born in Portsmouth, VA on July 10, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Ellwood and Cecelia L. (Dougherty) Thomson.

God blessed Mitzie with a wonderful husband, Everett Seldomridge, whom she married at the age of 80. He was the love of her life, and her only regret was not marrying him sooner.

Mitzie was the most loving wife, mother and grandmother (GG). She made everyone feel cherished with her gentle, warm and encouraging ways-always smiling, always available. Mitzie truly was a Proverbs 31 woman.

She enjoyed gardening, needlework and faithfully fed birds as well as feral cats. Mitzie didn’t have a mean bone in her body; she refused to kill house spiders, and would catch them and put it outside instead.

We will all miss her so very much, but are comforted by knowing she loved her Lord Jesus and is finally home.

In addition to her parents, Mitzie is preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by her loving husband, Everett Seldomridge; daughters, Becky Roessler and Debbie Gans-Odonnell; young brother, Teddy Thomson (Nicole); grandchildren, Ryan Roessler (Tammy), Kyle Roessler (Lucille), Celia Sloan (Chris) and Liza Odonnell; great grandchildren, Levi Barkley, Rebekah Gans, Landen Roessler, Colten Roessler, Olive Sloan, Kerri Rose Roessler and baby boy Sloan, due in March; and wonderful stepchildren who lovingly accepted her, Debbie Tunik (Asher), Michael Seldomridge (Donna) and Danny Seldomridge (Carol).

Services and interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mitzie’s memory to Fair Hill Church, 2420 Singerly Road, Elkton, MD 21921.
