Nancy Anne Lynch Gannon
August 10, 1932 - August 24, 2025
Nancy Anne Lynch Gannon, age 93, of Delaware City, DE, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025.
Mrs. Gannon was born in Wilmington, Delaware on August 10, 1932, daughter of the late Cornelius Kirk Lynch and Myrtle Voshell Lynch. After graduating from Delaware City High School she briefly worked at DuPont Co. She married her handsome high school dancing partner, Richard T. “Dicky” Gannon, Sr. and would go on to be the matriarch of the family. She dedicated her life to raising five children, instilling in them hard work and perseverance. Everyone would speak of her tenacity and love for domesticity.
Mrs. Gannon was an avid Philadelphia Flyers fan, enjoyed gardening, music by the Bee Gee’s, Josh Groban, Tom Jones, and Engelbert Humperdinck.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 57 years, Richard T. “Dicky” Gannon, Sr.
She is survived by her children, Kathleen Sczubelek (Walt), Christopher Gannon (Norma), Suzanne Havens (Rich), Eileen Gannon, and Richard T. Gannon, Jr. (Carin); grandchildren, Ashley, Richard Timothy III, Christopher, Lauren, Trevor, Kendra (in heaven), and Brianna; great-grandchildren, Baileah, Mackenzie, and Blake; and her life-long high school friend, Shirley Crompton.
Special thanks to our unsung hero, Larry Tomaich, for his graciousness, hospitality, and companionship in her final days.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Monday, September 8, 2025, at St. Paul’s R.C. Church, 209 Washington Street, Delaware City, DE, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am. Interment will follow in New St. Paul’s Cemetery, Cox Neck Road, Delaware City, DE.

Suzanne, Chris and Gannon Family: Sorry for the loss of your mom. We were next door neighbors back in the 80’s and early 90’s when we were first married. Both your mom and dad were great neighbors, especially since we knew them our entire lives and I’m related to your dad. I wish you comfort and happy memories of both of them. Take care, Jack Kirk
