Nicholas Thomas Ventresca, age 22, of Millsboro, DE, beloved son, brother, father, nephew, and friend, passed away suddenly on December 23, 2011 as a result of a tragic car accident.
Nick was born on June 16, 1989 in Newark, DE, to Ralph and Katherine (Broujos) Ventresca, and resided in Newark until he moved to Millsboro in 2010. He was a graduate of Glasgow High School and had aspired to a career in law enforcement. Nick became acquainted with hardship early in his life when he lost his mother at the age of 15, but despite his misfortune, he grew into a strong, capable, and kind young man of whom everyone was very proud.
Nick previously worked at Ruby Tuesday, but was employed most recently by the Tokyo Steakhouse in Millsboro.
He was predeceased by his mother, Katherine, who passed away in 2004. He is survived by his devoted father, Ralph T. Ventresca III, grandparents, Barbara and Frank Broujos of Newport, DE, Florence Ventresca, and Ralph and Dorothy Ventresca, all of Wilmington, DE. Also left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Kristin and Lauren Ventresca, his daughter, Briana Shahan, his nephew, Anthony Garber, and his niece, Hailey Foote. Nick also left behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, who will forever miss his grin.
A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, December 29, 2011, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Entombment will be in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to an education fund set up for Nick’s daughter, Briana Shahan, c/o Fran Dougherty, Wells Fargo Bank, 310 Dove Run Center Blvd., Middletown, DE 19709 (302-449-5485).
