Obrenija Madic

Mrs. Obrenija Madic, age 98, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2011, at Christiana Hospital.
A native of Yugoslavia, Mrs. Madic was born on March 3, 1913, daughter of the late Lazar Papic and Ikonija Lecic Papic. She was a talented homemaker throughout her life and particularly enjoyed cooking wonderful meals and baking for her family and friends.
Mrs. Madic was admired by all for her active, “on-the-go” lifestyle, even in her later years. She delighted in traveling and always looked forward to the company of her family and her many friends.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Stojan Madic; daughter, Sofija Sonja Lemanski (Joseph) of Bear; son, Michael Madic (Barbara) of St. Georges; grandchildren, Jennifer, Suzanne, and Cori; four great grandchildren; niece, Rosa; and many extended family members in the United States and Yugoslavia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Doko Papic and Rosa Pejatovic.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, September 9, 2011, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Port Penn Road, Port Penn, DE.
