Born January 22, 1923

Olga T. Moroz, age 94, of Churchman Village in Newark, DE, and formerly of Brookside, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 19, 2017.

Born in the coal mining community of Eckley, PA on January 22, 1923, Olga was the daughter of the late John and Helen (Gereck) Sotack. In addition to raising her family, she founded a kindergarten in Brookside and later, worked as a teacher’s assistant at Holy Angels School for a number of years.

A devout Catholic, Olga was a longtime parishioner of Holy Family Church in Newark. She was an exceptional cook and her homemade bread was loved by all. In her leisure time, Olga enjoyed attending Jazzercise. She will be remembered for her beautiful singing voice and devotion to her family. Olga was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Moroz, son, Lynn N. Moroz, and granddaughter, Victoria Coates. Olga is survived by her daughters, Olga P. Ward (Michael) of Bear, Andrea P. Moroz of Wilmington, and Paula M. Kukulich (Mark) of Ashburn, VA; 6 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 am until 11:30 am on Tuesday morning, October 24, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. Church, 345 Bear-Christiana Road, Bear, DE, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30 am. Interment will be held at 10:00 am in Wednesday morning, October 25, 2017, in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Olga’s memory may be made to Catholic Charities, 2601 W. 4th St., Wilmington, DE 19805.
