Olive Squares

Mrs. Olive Squares, age 88, formerly of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 27, 2012, with her loving family by her side. A lifelong resident of Delaware, Olive was the daughter of the late Lillian Beatrice (Cowgill) and Raymond Franklin Foraker, Sr.
Olive was a 1943 graduate of Newark High School. In her earlier career days, she worked for the DuPont Company (where she was a member of the DuPont Choir) and the News Journal Company. She was a homemaker and a member of the Howard Weston Senior Center. Her love of life, family, and dancing will be remembered by all.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, George Squares, Jr., in 1995. She is survived by her daughters and her sons-in-law, Gwen S. and Donald C. Ross of Wilmington (with whom she lived) and Diane L. and John A. Dillman III of Earleville, MD; her grandson, Jason George Lawson and his wife Valerie; and her great grandchildren, Jesse Chapman Lawson and Julia Gwen Lawson.
The family extends special thanks to the wonderful staff at Shipley Manor for their care, love, support, and friendship.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Port Penn.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Shipley Manor Health Center Employee Fund, 2723 Shipley Road, Wilmington, DE 19810.
