Oscar B. Wolf

Mr. Oscar B. Wolf, age 87, formerly of Primehook Beach and New Castle, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2013, at The Kutz Home in Wilmington.
A native Delawarean, Mr. Wolf was born in New Castle on March 29, 1925, one of eight children born to William W. Wolf and Lulu M. Baynard Wolf. He proudly served his country in the US Navy and, in civilian life, made his career as a professional machinist at the Wilmington Shops with the former Pennsylvania Railroad and later Amtrak. He retired after 43 years of service.
A gifted carpenter throughout his life, Mr. Wolf designed and built his family’s vacation cottage at Primehook Beach. He greatly enjoyed saltwater fishing and was an avid bowler.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Jenny Megginson Wolf; children, Paul B. Wolf of Bear, Judith M. Finochi (James) of Sebastian, FL, John R. Wolf (Beverly) of New Castle, Thomas K. Wolf (Linda) of New Castle, Edward C. Wolf (Gail) of Rehoboth Beach, and Joseph O. Wolf (Sandra) of Laurel; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday, March 25, 2013, in the chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow in the adjoining memorial park.
