We are honored to be the first funeral home in Delaware inducted into the National Funeral Directors Association Hall of Excellence. The Hall of Excellence honors NFDA-member funeral homes upon receiving their 10th NFDA Pursuit of Excellence Award and recognizes a 
consistent display of professional and ethical excellence. This places us among the most distinguished funeral homes in the world.
We are very appreciative that, for five years running, the people of Delaware have nominated and voted Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Homes & Crematory among the top Delaware funeral homes in the First State Favorites awards. This includes four Community Choice first-place awards.

Each year, they recognize “funeral homes around the world that have demonstrated a commitment to raising the bar on funeral service excellence by adhering to strict ethical and professional standards and providing outstanding service to families and communities.”
In addition to induction into NFDA’s Hall of Excellence (2024) and a decade of Pursuit of Excellence Awards (2015-2024), NFDA has recognized Spicer-Mullikin with the following awards:
- The Inaugural Richard Myers Pinnacle Award (2018) – This award is conferred only when NFDA’s Pursuit of Excellence committee encounters a remarkable example of a program or service that far surpasses the definition of excellence. We are very proud to be the very first recipient.
