Patricia Dale “Pat” Brant

April 6, 1944 - December 1, 2019

            Patricia Dale “Pat” Brant, age 75, of Clayton, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 1, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.

            Born in Thomaston, GA on April 6, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Gerald and Margaret (Coker) Dubois.  Pat graduated from De La Warr High School.  Following graduation she married the love of her life, Fred.  Throughout her working career, she waitressed at various restaurants, with the last 20 years before retirement at Bob Evans.

            Pat was a member of Real Life Community Church.  She enjoyed volunteering at church, especially at the greeting station offering bagels, coffee and her own fresh baked goods.  Pat had a giving heart and took great pleasure in helping others.  In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling, going to the movies, watching tennis, game shows and spending time with her little dog, Ivan.  Pat was an avid Elvis fan.

            In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Freddie Relane Brant; and brother, Gary Dubois.  Pat is survived by her children, Sharon Reider (John), Brian Brant (Jenny) and Angela Brant (John Mullin); siblings, Margaret E. Perkins, William Dubois (Barbara), and Robert Dubois (Angel); sisters-in-law, Joy Parker, Sue Bell, Doris Brant, Jean Brant and Janet Brant; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William and Sandy Corbin; grandchildren, Samantha Brant, Danielle Peirson, Sarah McMillan, Christy Mullin, Curtis Reider and Eric Reider; and great grandson, Christopher Peirson.

            A visitation for family and friends will be held from 3 pm until 4 pm on Saturday, December 14, 2019, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 4 pm.  Interment will be held privately in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date.

            In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Pat’s memory to Real Life Community Church, Attn: Building Fund, P.O. Box 36, Middletown, DE 19709.

  • Pat was such a loving and joyful lady who took such great pleasure in serving. She made the best desserts which she loved to share and if she knew you particularly enjoyed something, she just might present you with a gift of that dessert. She certainly loved Jesus and we know she is worshiping at his throne. She will be greatly missed. Prayers for the family as they go thru this difficult time.
