Patricia “Pat” Samoluk

Patricia “Pat” Samoluk, age 88, of Middletown, DE, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 4, 2022.  

Pat was born in Pennsylvania on May 2, 1934 to Charles and Frances McAteer. She was the youngest of nine children.   

Pat graduated from Chester High School where she was a drum majorette in the marching band. She loved music and dance.  In her teens, she tap-danced on local television variety shows.   

Pat loved to travel and was a member of the Royal Caribbean Crown and Anchor Society. She loved her Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. Her biggest joy came from her family. She loved to host family parties and have a house full of people.  She took great pride in her children, her grandsons, and her home.    

She is predeceased by her parents and all 8 of her siblings. She is also predeceased by her first husband, Marcellus Sciallo (father of her children) and her second husband, John Samoluk.  She is survived by children, Patricia Farrell, Kathleen Swinick (Joseph), Frank Sciallo, and three grandsons Ryan, Conor, and Adam. Patricia is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and friends.   

The family would like to acknowledge and thank the compassionate care she received from Christiana Hospital, AccentCare/Seasons Hospice and her at home nursing aides.  

To celebrate Patricia’s life, the family is hosting an open house at her residence on Sunday, August 14, 2022 from 1 until 4 in the afternoon.

  • Pat was a special lady in my heart. She told me she has no regrets and lived a good life. She wanted to live to see her 88th birthday and she did and then some.
    Here adult children were there for her and she appreciated all they did for her.
    I was lucky to get to know her before she passed. I already miss her.
