Paul Edwin Murray

Born February 23, 1948

Paul Edwin Murray, born February 23, 1948 in Glendale, NY, lost a life-long battle with illnesses on January 8, 2014, while residing in Parkview Nursing Home in Wilmington, DE.

At various times, he was a mathematics and computer science instructor at Lincoln University, Daycroft School in Greenwich, CT and for the Tandy Corporation. He was an enthusiastic member of the University of Delaware Choral Union, a devoted and long-time member for many years in the Christian Science Church and was active in the Newark Senior Center where he sometimes taught bridge. There was hardly a board game or a card game that he hadn’t mastered and loved. All who knew him were impressed by his intelligence and wide-ranging knowledge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Elda Murray, former wife, Betty, and a younger brother, William. He is survived by his son, Andrew and his wife, Serina, and their 2 daughters, Evelyn and Gwendolyn, all of Palm Beach, FL; and by his 2 older brothers, Frank and Tom Murray, both of Newark.

Services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Paul’s name may be made to the First Church of Christ Scientist, 48 W. Park Place, Newark, DE 19711.

2 Condolences for Paul Edwin Murray

  • All of us at CFT Ambulance were sorry to hear about the death of Mr. Murray. We transported him back and forth to dialysis on numerous occasions. We were shocked by his passing. He was a very pleasant gentleman. Our condolences go out to his family.

  • Please accept my heartfelt sympathies. My heart goes out to the family. Death is something we will never get use to. In fact, God’s Word refers to death as an enemy. (1 Corinthians 15:26) Very soon our loving Heavenly Father, Jehovah God, will remove death once and for all and give us the opportunity to see our loved ones again here on the earth.
