Pauline Stewart, age 85, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 18, 2018, surrounded by her family.

Born in Atlantic City, NJ, on November 19, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Wilfred and Louise (Pasquale) Clark. Pauline dedicated her career as a cafeteria cook with the DeLaWarr School District and retired after many years of service.

As a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Holloway Terrace Fire Company, Pauline enjoyed donating her time to help others. Her hobbies included baking and crocheting. Above all, she will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Stewart; brother, James Earl; and sisters, Etta Welker and Claire Ingargiola. She is survived by her children, Anthony Riccio (Patricia) of New Castle, DE, Ronald Riccio (Annette) of Galloway, NJ, Dennis Riccio (Teresa) of Belington, WV and Wilfred Stewart (Patricia) of Middletown, DE; sister, Barbara Frantz of Brigantine, NJ; 18 grandchildren; and 27 great grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11:30 am on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11:30 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pauline’s memory to Seasons Hospice, 220 Continental Drive, Suite 407, Newark, DE 19713 or First Baptist Church of Holloway Terrace, 308 West Avenue, New Castle, DE 19720.

  • To the family members…Growing up, you lived 2 doors down from us. I remember Anthony, Ronnie, Dennis…The Miller family sends their condolences. Dad (Charlie) died a year ago, and Mom (Mary) died 18 months prior. So sorry for your loss.
