Peter James Crisman, age 82, of Townsend, DE, passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, April 12, 2025.

Born in Buffalo, NY on November 14, 1942, he was a son of the late Peter W. and Helen (Brzozowski) Crisman.

After graduating high school in Buffalo, Peter joined the National Guard Reserves, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to service. For 30 years, he worked as a communication specialist for Conrail before beginning a second career as a route manager with DART First State, where he served the community for another decade.

Peter had a love for the outdoors and cherished time spent camping and taking cruises with his family. He was an avid vegetable gardener, always eager to share his harvest. A man of faith, Peter was a dedicated member of St. Joseph Parish, where he served proudly as a Knight of Columbus. He also found great joy in daily walks and conversations with his neighborhood friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Janice M. (Baehr) Crisman; children, Brian Crisman (Rachael Wheelin) and Pam Stefanuca (Jon); grandchildren, August and Eleanor Stefanuca; siblings, Carol Nawrocki (Robert), Robert Crisman (Peggy), and Billy Crisman (Allison Voight); and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at St. Joseph Parish, 319 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a Memorial Mass will be offered at 11 am. Interment will be held privately.
