Prinzie Mae Pyle, age 77, of Newark, DE, passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021.

Born in Oak Hill, WV, on March 4, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Jacob N. and Bessie M. (Lawhorn) Humphrey. Prinzie worked as a school bus driver for Christina School District for over 25 years until her retirement. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing bingo, Yahtzee, and doing arts and crafts. She was a member of the Newark Senior Center and enjoyed spending time with the many friends she made there.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. “Larry” Pyle and granddaughter, Kirsten Pyle. Prinzie is survived by her children, Lisa A. Reed (Wadsworth) and Timothy A. Pyle (Je’anine); grandchildren, Eric Pyle, Madison Pyle, and Regina Reed; and great-grandchildren, Emma and S.J.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am, on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a funeral service will be held at 11 am. Face coverings will be required for all those in attendance not immunized with the COVID-19 vaccine per the Governor of Delaware. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Prinzie’s memory to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, PO Box 801889, Dallas, TX 75380.

My grandmothers name was Prinzie Fay Lawhorn and her dad was Frank Lawhorn so I think my grandmother and Bessie were cousins. I grew up in Hinton WV and currently live in Hanover PA.
