Mrs. Rachel Marlene Dalton, age 74, of Newark, DE, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2012.
Born in Gastonia, NC on March 17, 1938, Marlene was the daughter of the late David L. Gant and Louise E. Knight. She made her career in banking and was employed as a teller with the Wilmington Trust Company, retiring from the Chesmar Plaza branch in Newark, after 26 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Burmah D. Dalton, son, Scott A. Dalton, and a sister, Myrtle Parrott. She is survived by her daughter, Malia K. Warren (William) of Chesapeake, VA; son, Richard B. Dalton (Terri) of Elkton, MD; siblings, Helen Whitlock, Bobbie Sue Price, and Pervy R. Gant, all of Gastonia, NC; and grandchildren, Christopher Zinszer, Brian Zinszer, Adriane Dalton, Chad Dalton, Conner Dalton, and Emily Dalton.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will be held privately.
