Mrs. Rebecca F. Brown, known fondly as “Betty,” age 87, of Newark, DE, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2013.
A native Delawarean, Mrs. Brown was born in Wilmington on April 13, 1926, daughter of the late Leroy S. Miller and Mabel I. Stewart Miller. She was employed as an administrative assistant in the human resources department of the DuPont Country Club until her retirement.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Walter A. Brown, her great grandson, Jaeger Wayne Murray, and her brother, Master Chief Roy Miller, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Beverly L. Murray and husband Ken of Lewes; son, Wayne A. Brown and wife Sue of Chesapeake City, MD; sister, Lois McMonigle and husband Bill of Lewes; grandchildren, Shawn Murray and wife Lisa of Middletown, EOD Chief Michael Murray and wife Amna of Virginia Beach, VA, Ken Murray, Jr. of New Jersey, Wayne Brown, Jr. of Wilmington, and Ashley Brown and husband Casey Hodge of Venice, FL; and four great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 11 am to 12 noon on Friday, August 9th, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle. Services and burial will be held privately.
