Richard Floyd Lewis, Jr., age 86, of Newark, DE, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2020,
Born in Harrisburg, PA on November 25, 1933, he was the son of the late Richard Floyd and Florence (Willis) Lewis, Sr. Richard proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He worked at West Park School in Newark for many years. Richard was a very generous and caring man who loved to take care of his family and friends. He enjoyed bowling and sports in general. A man of deep faith, Richard loved the Lord.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his siblings, Kenny Lewis, Kermit Lewis, Joan Brunk and Arlene Lewis. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Catherine (Eskridge) Lewis; children, Jody Lewis (Cherie), Mary Mashington (Steve), Tracinda Lewis and Corrina Lewis; step-daughter, Dawn O’Neal; and 10 grandchildren.
All services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Richard’s memory to Living Waters, P.O. Box 7162, Newark, DE 19714-7162.
