Richard J. Pennell, age 54, of New Castle, DE passed away peacefully on Friday, November 15, 2013.
Born in Wilmington, Delaware on October 18, 1959, Richard was the son of the late Harry S. Pennell and Josephine E. DiSabatino Pennell. He made his career as a security guard with the State of Delaware, where he was employed for 17 years.
Richard was a member of Holy Spirit R.C. Church. An avid Eagles fan, he enjoyed cheering on his favorite team each season. Richard was happiest in the company of his family and especially loved sharing special occasions with them. He will be dearly missed by all.
Richard is survived by his special friends, Edwin Tirado and wife, Mary Alice, Jimmy Legates, and E.J. Tirado, whom he considered a nephew; and many cousins.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at the Holy Spirit R.C. Church, 12 Winder Road, Garfield Park, New Castle, DE, where friends may call from 10 am until 11 am. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery, 2400 Lancaster Ave., Wilmington, DE.
