Richard Stanley Tawgin

Mr. Richard Stanley Tawgin, known fondly as “Rich,” age 70, of Newark, DE, formerly of Staten Island, NY, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2011.
Born in Staten Island, NY, on March 7, 1941, Mr. Tawgin was the son of the late Helen and Stanley Tawgin. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis. In civilian life, he made his career in the banking industry and was employed with J.P. Morgan in both New York City and Newark, DE, until his retirement.
In his leisure hours, Mr. Tawgin greatly enjoyed playing golf with friends, bicycling, and dining at his favorite restaurant, Café Napoli on Kirkwood Highway in Wilmington, DE.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalie Heimowitz Tawgin, in 1999. He is survived by his daughter, Susan Hayes of Texas City, TX; stepsons, Steven Gold of Little Elm, TX, Mark Gold of Ridgefield, CT, and Eric Gold of Frisco, TX; sister, Barbara Carr of Staten Island, NY; grandchildren and a great grandchild.
A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, November 5, 2011, at St. Peter’s Cemetery, 52 Tyler Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10310.
