Mr. Robert Christopher Alman, age 42, of Newark, DE, passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2013.
Born in Union, SC, on July 26, 1970, Mr. Alman was the son of the late Jimmy Wayne Alman and Janice Going Alman. He proudly served his country in the US Army and, in civilian life, made his career as a freelance truck driver. He greatly enjoyed his work as a professional driver, a job which enabled him to travel all over the country and to visit his many friends and family.
Active in his community, Mr. Alman was a longtime member of the Aetna Hose, Hook, and Ladder Fire Company in Newark.
He is survived by his sister, Rebecca Jane Levan and husband Ches of New Castle, DE, and by nephews, a niece, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at Pleasantville Baptist Church, 162 Christiana Road, New Castle, DE 19720, where visitation will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
