December 11, 1977 - December 8, 2023

Robert Corby O’Grady, age 45, of Newark, DE, passed away at home on Friday, December 8, 2023.

Born in Newark, Delaware on December 11, 1977, he was the son of the late Thomas Michael O’Grady and Kathleen (Corby) O’Grady. Robert graduated from Hodgson Vo-Tech High School in 1997. His past employment included Allied Barton as a security specialist.

Robert was a member of the Special Olympics community and the Newark Dragons team. He competed in bocce and bowling and became an Athlete Lead in 2016.

Robert loved watching NASCAR and his favorite driver, Dale Earnhart. After he was converted by his brother, Tommy, and long-time friend, Sean, Robert could be found sporting his Philadelphia Eagles gear each week during the football season. He enjoyed making videos, hanging out at home with friends, and going to the movies. Truly a patriotic soul, Robert liked to sing “God Bless the USA” at karaoke and wore out his favorite red, white, and blue flag shirt.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Kristin; his only brother, Tommy (Beth) of Middletown, DE; and many nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Monday, December 18, 2023, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 6:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert’s name to Special Olympics Delaware, 619 South College Avenue, Newark, DE, 19713 or online by clicking here.
