Robert E. “Bob” Wolfe, age 66, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 1, 2018.

Born in Danville, PA on February 13, 1952, he was a son of the late Frank and Phyllis (Smith) Wolfe. Bob graduated from Penn State University in 1974 with a business degree in logistics. Following graduation he briefly worked for Boy Scouts of America. Bob dedicated over 20 years in the trucking industry as a terminal manager.

An avid outdoorsman, Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing and crabbing with his sons. Bob loved sports, especially tailgaiting and cheering on his beloved alma-mater Penn State Nittany Lions football team. In his leisure time, Bob played and coached his sons in baseball and basketball. He was a former member of Asbury U.M. Church in New Castle and a current member of St. Paul’s U.M Church in Wilmington.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Deborah (Switzer) Wolfe; sons, Jamie Wolfe (Wendy) of Kinzers, PA and Thad Wolfe (Meghna) of Wilmington, DE; brother, John Wolfe (Heidi) of Port Royal, PA; grandchildren, Chloe and Carter Wolfe; and nephews and nieces, Ben, Justin, Bobby, Travis, Kim and Angie.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9 am until 10 am on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at St. Paul’s U.M. Church, 1314 Foulk Road, Wilmington, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.

  • My sincere condolences to the entire family. Bob was a great guy to know. Always had a smile and a great listener. I know he will be missed. I miss him and his wife, Debbie.

  • Bob was class mate at Juniata Joint. He had a personality that outshined. I hadn’t been to the last class reunion. He was kind to call and think of me afterwards. At the time my husband BJ was dealing with his battle with cancer. He passed away 18 months ago. We shared our life stories and many great school memories. He was a great guy . I’m truly sorry for your loss. God bless
