Robert J. Cammock, age 92, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 14, 2022.

Born in Wilmington, DE on March 21, 1930, he was a son of the late Robert Cammock and Ellen Conner. Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired after a long career as an electrician at DuPont.

Robert was an avid sports fan. Passionate about his gardening, he had a green thumb like no other, proudly tending to his yard work. Most of all, he cherished spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rose Mary (Ruggerio) Cammock; son, Robert M. Cammock; and sisters, Ellen “Esther” Patterson, and Catherine Raciti. He is survived by his loving children, Richard J. Cammock of Smyrna, Ruthann M. Parsons (Michael) of Middletown, and Rhonda A. Cook (Stephen) of Newark; grandchildren, Richard and Tyler Cammock, Rebecca Brown, Robyn Debonis, and Mindy and Madison Cook; great-grandchildren, Matthew Decker, Colin Brown, and Gabriella Brown; and brother, Nelson Cammock.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Monday, September 19, 2022 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE.

  • Uncle Robert was very special to me. He was much quieter than my Dad, Nelson but when dad and I would visit him and Aunt Rose he would sit and tell me stories about them growing up and him and dad would laugh at the trouble they got into. He will be missed. Our love we send to all of you.
