Robert Leroy “Bob” Coburn, Sr., age 85, of Newark, DE, passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2021.
Born in Pennsylvania on April 2, 1936, he was the son of the late David and Francis M. (Garner) Coburn. Bob retired from General Motors after 30 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Masons, Nur Shrine Temple. Bob was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed visiting the New Castle Farmers Market on Saturdays, and going to bingo with his daughter, Linda.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his children, Joan Murray and Robert L. Coburn, Jr., and 2 sisters. He is survived by his children, Linda Durand (Melvin), Roberta Crumley (Barry), and Jason Coburn; grandchildren, Melvin, Jr., Sherry, Crystal, Amanda, John, Shylo, Bucky, Shannon, Mark, Matthew, Jesse, Robbie, Joshua, and David; and many great grandchildren.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2 pm until 3 pm on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, followed by a memorial service at 3 pm. Face masks are required for all in attendance. Interment will be held privately.
