Robert M. “Bobby” Watunya

November 14, 1958 - August 29, 2020

Robert Michael “Bobby” Watunya, age 61, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2020, surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Born in Kidlington, England on November 14, 1958, he was a son of the late George and Valerie G. (Lewis) Watunya. He was a graduate of Salesianum and made his career as a maintenance technician for CSX Railroad.

 Bobby enjoyed reading the Bible, visiting the beach, attending 12 step recovery meetings and the ladies. An avid football fan, you could always find him cheering on his favorite football team, the Philadelphia Eagles.

Bobby is survived by his children, Kristie L. Watunya of Wilmington and Justin M. McHugh of New Castle; brother, Steven G. Watunya of Wilmington; sister, Karen M. Miller (George) of Middletown; and nieces, Jennifer M. McDonald, Ashley M. Miller and Lauren V. Miller.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Friday, September 4, 2020, at Grace United Methodist Church, 900 N. Washington Street, Wilmington, DE, 19801, where a celebration of life will begin at 11 am. Face masks will be required for all in attendance. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bobby’s name to Grace United Methodist Church, at the address listed above or Holy Spirit Parish, 12 Winder Road, New Castle, DE 19720.

    I am so deeply sorry to hear of the passing of your DEAR brother Bobby. I last saw him over a year ago at Bills funeral service with you Steven. He told me he was ill and what he was going though. I was sh picked and i prayed for him to make a full recovery. I guess God wanted him home with your parents. Steven the 2 of you seemed to be inseparable always together & always smiling. He loved you so much.
