          Robert N. “Bob” Baer, age 80, of Newark, DE, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2019.

          Born in Shickshinny, PA on October 27, 1938, he was the son of the late Clarence and Mabel (Titus) Baer.

          In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jeri Sheats.  He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary L. (Hamm) Baer; daughters, Kathleen Sheats (David) of Newark, DE and Donna Sheats of New Castle, DE; 3 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.

          A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Thursday, August 22, 2019, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am.  Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. It was Bob’s request that everyone dress casual for the service.

          In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bob’s memory to Salem United Methodist Church, 469 Salem Church Road, Newark, DE 19702.

  • I wish I could be there to give you all a big hug and to tell you how very sorry I am to hear of “uncle Bobs'” passing. I have many wonderful memories of my childhood spent with the Baer’s that I will cherish forever. Uncle Bob was a gentle sweet man who always welcomed me as a third daughter as Donna and I were inseparable as kids. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
