Mrs. Roberta Lynn Harrington (“Bertie”), age 60, of Elkton, MD, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2013.
Roberta was a native Delawarean, born in Wilmington on August 4, 1952, daughter of the late Robert Armstrong and May Springer Armstrong Nelson. A registered nurse by profession, she dedicated her life to the uncompromising care of her patients.
Roberta will be long remembered as a compassionate, kind, and family-oriented person, who never met a baby she didn’t like! She truly loved caring for others and was well known for her thoughtful gifts on special occasions. Those feeling under-the-weather were often the grateful recipients of her wonderful, home-cooked meals.
In addition to her parents, Roberta was preceded in death by her sister, Kelly Leithren. She is survived by her beloved husband of 34 years, William Karl Harrington; children, Stephen S. Harrington and Dawn M. Brehm (Steven); sisters, Sandra Skelley, Winnie Sammons, and Leora Welsh; brothers, Boyd Armstrong, Robert Armstrong, and Jay Faulkner; grandsons, Tyler Kackley and Harrison Brehm; nieces and nephews; and her pet dog, Oreo.
Visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm on Monday, March 4th, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 W. Park Place, Newark, DE. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, March 5th, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 500 W. Chestnut Hill Road, Newark, DE, where a second visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
