Romayne McElhaney

Miss Romayne McElhaney, age 83, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2012.
Born in Oil City, PA on May 24, 1928, Romayne was the daughter of the late Grant McElhaney and June Tuttle McElhaney. A talented editor, Romayne was employed with the International Reading Association, where she retired after a long career.
Thinking of Romayne, you would always remember: the color green, butterflies, her love of sports cars and her own Mustang, word search books, her plants (especially the palm), someone who always remembered your birthday or special occasion with a card, a thrifty coupon clipper, a place for everything and everything in its place, a sweet smile, and “thank you.”
Romayne, a child of God, was a devoted member of the Church of the Nazarene all of her life. She will be missed.
Romayne survived her five brothers and one sister. She will be fondly remembered by her niece Janice Wahl (husband Horace), nephew William McElhaney (wife Connie), niece Linda McElhaney, sister-in-law Marda McElhaney, niece Kathi Cronkrite, nephew Scott McElhaney (wife Judy), nephew Bruce McElhaney; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held privately in Elmira, NY.
