Ronald J. “Ron” Love

Ronald J. “Ron” Love, age 70, of Newark, DE, passed away at home on Sunday, January 26, 2020.

Born in Evansville, IN on November 18, 1949, he was a son of Homer Love and the late Wanda (Schutz) Love.  Ron proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 12 years during the Vietnam era.  He worked as a manager for the former Fletchwood Inn in Elkton, MD.

Ron was a proud member of the VFW Post 475 in Newark.  He enjoyed fishing and vegetable gardening.  Ron loved watching baseball and cheering on the Baltimore Orioles.  More than anything else, he loved his family, especially his 4 grandchildren.

Ron is survived by his father, Homer; loving wife of 27 years, Deborah E. (Manzie) Love; children, Ashley Love of Smyrna, DE and John Corey of Freehold, NJ; siblings, Stanley Love (Glenda), Sheryl Johnston and David Love (Sherry); brother-in-law, Dan Spaits; and grandchildren, Azalynn Wood, Jonathan Wood, Anya Corey and Jasalynn Lopez.

All services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
